It’s that time of year and there is not other way to break in the Ski / Snowboarding season than with 4ft of fresh snow in Lake Tahoe.

Post_143_1

You remember Danny right? Well my good friend hooked it up huge this past weekend. He drove us through the weather, introduced us to his new Tahoe friends and even found a place to crash the night.

Hands down this is one of the top perks of living in Northern California. When it gets a little cooler and overcast here in SF that means Tahoe is getting snow. Some are saying this will be THE year with an overwhelming amount of snow expected.

Thanks again Danny!

I know I’m a little behind on this so I apologize for the delay.

As I’m sure you all know things get a little busy around this time of year. Trips to plan, gifts to wrap and Holiday cheer to give back. As mentioned I took a quick Midwest trip back home to surprise my family for Thanksgiving and spend some time with friends. In addition to the good people there is something to be said about the magic behind holiday food. I’m not sure if it’s the nostalgia ingredient but it sure tastes better than any other time of the year.

Nothing beats family time and I can’t wait for Round 2 next week!

I made the trip back to the Midwest for the holiday and had the chance to stop by our HQ to visit William.

While I was there we caught up on a few things, one of which was our successful Black Friday orders. It’s always nice to get a fresh reminder of the extra effort thats put into each package. Those who have ordered already know about the ribbon and signature wax seal along with the extra items we throw in to show our appreciation. I’ll never stop saying it, but we truly appreciate your support.

This is where William gets it all done. While I’m out here in San Francisco handling the Creative side of the business William runs the Business side of the company back home, in the Midwest. Which is no easy task. Each order, signed sealed and delivered gets to you from here.

Speaking of deliveries, I was happy to finally get my hands on our new sticker sets

and found a good home for the Red on my sketchbook.

Stepping back for a moment to take a look around. Sometimes just doing that can be as simple as staring at the ceiling.

Taking on a start up across country is hard enough. Working on projects with people on the opposite side of the world is even more difficult, but where there’s a will there’s a way. Right?

We’re working on a new project with our distant friend Kristian, you may recall him here. As an intro, I wanted to share this particular image since it captures the keen eye and bold aesthetic that Kristian has with his photography.

Although he would never claim to be a professional, his photos combined with the actual experience behind them make for a pretty soild story. One that many different perspectives can appreciate.

The project is a celebration of Kristian’s experience abroad and a welcome home of sorts. As we wrap up the final details Kristian is traveling from Morocco through The Netherlands before he finally returns home to the United States.

Stay tuned and safe travels,

For those of you who remember Brad, he is now my new roomie here is SF. The other day while picking up some new snow gear we started geekin’ out on all of the undiscovered terrain we have yet to experience in Tahoe.

Post_135_1

This shot was one that Brad took of his brother and I on a boarding trip in New York. We used to go out for hours and take photos for fun. Sometimes it was directly related to some art class project and others it was an excuse to go out and just explore with our cameras.

I can’t help but laugh looking back at those times and recalling that we had no clue what we were doing in terms of photography or even content for that matter. That was the least of our concerns. We just wanted to check out the areas of town that people avoided and see what kind of shots we could capture before the end of the day.

Like this one.

Post_135_2

Then we would take the photos and see what happened once they went digital.

Post_135_3

The over filtered aesthetic of this master piece wasn’t enough. I had to add my class schedule from that semester and peppered it in to give it a little extra kick. Awesome.

For as amateur as it appears it does remind me of how fun and carefree the process was back then.

TGIF,
