This past week was the beginning of the Chinese New Year. 2009 is the year of the Ox, which is thought to be the sign of prosperity through fortitude and hard work. To celebrate this event it’s tradition to receive a red letter gift.

There are a lot of good food choices here in SF but to stay true to the theme we decided to spend lunch at this new dumpling house downtown.

If you ever get the chance to visit one I highly recommend the red bean dumpling for dessert.
