Meet couch surfers Marie and David from Paris, France. This past weekend I went out to meet up with my good friend Scott. Scott brought his girlfriend and introduced me to Marie and David who we’re staying/surfing with him for the weekend.
So, whats couch surfing? Couch surfing is an online community just like any other social site where you meet new people. The idea is you meet people where you want to travel. You send a few messages, exchange info. and become friends. When your ready to go travel, send your friends a message and see if they’re couch is available while you’ll be in town. It’s a great concept to meet new people and travel in places you would never imagine!
As the night progressed I handed out a few new cards we’ve been working on. One side has our contact info. and the other has our coin phrase “The Syndicate Saves”. The idea is whenever your out having fun doing new things or even checking an item off your bucket list you can document the moment with the card.

Since the beach theme is at the heart of this Summer 09 collection, we decided an influence from one of our favorite 90s TV shows would be a great piece. We considered a design with CJ, Caroline and even Lt. Mitch Buchannon peering out to sea but it didn’t make the cut.

Shipping out those first to jump at our recent hoody pre-order event. All of our summer products are based off a beach theme which plays into our coin phrase “The Syndicate Saves”. Since Kyle lives right next to the ocean out in SF and we’re surrounded by the Great Lakes here in Michigan this theme was a must.
Some additional summer goodies are starting to float in as well.
Oh and ps we decided to flip the switch and bring some white to our site. We’ll be making some gradual improvements throughout the site in the next couple weeks!

As we’ve mentioned before, it can be quite a challenge to run THESYNDICATE from both sides of the country. So with the help of the inter-webs we do a lot of video calls. Here are a few screen shots that show our new summer Rescue Hoody going through the development paces.
This item will be available in Dark Grey, Red and Teal colors, each with an embroidered patch and printed details. Watch for this item to be arriving in our online store soon, for some other people maybe even before then…

Some good family friends from Michigan we’re in the San Francisco area for a few days so we met up for lunch this past Thursday at the “Thirsty Bear” downtown. I grew up with this family so we had a lot to catch up on. We talked about life in California, up coming travel plans and weddings! Unfortunately we forgot to take a photo together before they left so I had to take a quick shot of the leftovers from our meal. Thanks John, Barb and Kathleen!
Speaking of food and good people, a good friend of mine had a recent birthday. Of course he had the in office birthday cake but since he has a weakness for burritos someone decided to surprise him with a XXXL. A bit obnoxious but either way he enjoyed all 3 lbs. yes we weighed it it was 3 pounds.
Don’t forget to exercise and pay your taxes too!
