This past weekend I spent a day at one of Michigan’s 11,000 fresh water lakes with my brother Johnny and a couple of friends.

My weekend was pretty low key. I spent one day around the apartment trying to catch up on errands and then took a trip out to the desert to meet up with Danny and check out his new digs.

We got a lot done. Picked up some new furniture for his spot, which also came with the sales lady’s phone number as an extra incentive (she thought he was a looker). Then we headed out to a local biking trail and put a few miles down. It was a lot of fun to explore and check out trails and new areas.

To prepare for future fishing trips we each picked up a California fishing license at the local drug store. Danny almost bought this LED fishing rod but I convinced him that Pink wasn’t really his color.

I was on my way out of his complex when I noticed someone had a little too much fun enjoying their holiday.

Hope everyone enjoyed the long weekend. I know William did, lets see if I can get him to share a few photos…

I’ve always been a fan of vintage signs. While driving down Woodward the other day I took a few pictures of my favorites. Although the Woodward corridor between Royal Oak and Birmingham is littered with new buildings its nice to see some businesses still maintain the classics.

Chicken Shack. A tasty Detroit based restaurant with around 20 locations in the metro area.

MGM Cleaners. Never been there but it’s a cool sign though, check out those bolts.

Buddy’s. Also based in Detroit, has maintained the #1 deep dish pizza title for years. It’s great pizza.

Who knows maybe this set will inspire a vintage Syndicate sign!

Two weeks ago I went on a 2 day camp out with a big group of friends. Its been awhile but I used to go camping all the time when I was younger growing up in Michigan. Despite the ticks and howling coyotes that stole our leftovers we had a great time. Thanks again to everyone who was a part of this adventure.

This guy passing us on the trail had some quailty issues with his shoes. His sole peeled right off the bottom.

So my man Big Ro hooked him up with some electrical tape to hold him through the rest of his hike.

As mentioned before this conquer card idea is a work in progress. It’s essentially our business card but on the back side it has a spot to list your recent achievement. A lot of people ask “what does The Syndicate Save?” Well- This phrase is the bottom line and reason behind the name of The Syndicate. It means the group wins. For this hiking trip The Syndicate saved some time out of my busy schedule to sit on top of a mountain and have some lunch with 10 of my friends.

Of course when camping out you can’t forget the s’mores…

or the Hersheys laying on a bed of peanut butter and Graham cracker.

So whats next.. who knows but in the meantime stay active and GO CAMPING!

Just flew in from Michigan late last night and had a great time seeing friends and family. Sometimes it seems like I’m either staring out the window or waiting in the airport longer than my actual stay in between flights.

In other news there is a big hockey game tonight. GO WINGS!

This past weekend my good friend Big Glen moved back to LA. I have to admit although I’m really happy for his new opportunity down south he will certainly be missed.

post_96_2

Now I have one more excuse to visit LA on the weekends.

post_96_1

Big ups Glen, I’ll see ya soon!

My college buddy Jeff was in town on vacation with his girlfriend Brittni this past week. They decided to kick of they’re California tour up north and then headed south after leaving SF. During they’re stay I tried to show them as much of Northern California as I could.  Despite the fog we found some good spots and had a great time. Check the video below from our trip to the wine castle.

My friend Glen was there as well. Here you can see how this old world castle was all up to date on the interior.

Thanks for the gift! I hope the rest of your trip was a success.

South Haven provided the backdrop for our recent waterfront photo shoot. With Lake Michigan, lighthouses and rolling sand dunes the beach setting was a great location.

A special thanks to our friends; Kristen, Mackenzie, Joe, Caitlin, and Johnny who all modeled our Summer 09 Saves collection. Also thanks to Tyler from Miles Avenue Longboards who directed and photographed the entire shoot.

More photos to follow!
