I wanted to post a note for those people who are new to the blog and have recently been introduced to our start-up.

The Syndicate is all about the group effort. Bottom line, that’s why we’re here and why we will continue to work towards our goals by involving as much friends, family and people we meet along the way. On this same note, Michigan will always be a key part of this collective. The company is a two fold operation divided evenly between myself and William. To dum it down, I apply my creative background of art, design and photography and William helps brings the ideas to life from a business and development side of things.

The story behind why and where is a little more in depth, which over time we will gladly explain in detail. For now, I’ll try to explain through a few key points.

I’ve known William for about 12+ years. From the same small town, to college roommates and now connecting across country via The Syndicate. For some of you, you may remember a small project, I started in college around 05 with another roommate Brad Burke. After school Brad and I decided to pursue our degrees and literally landed jobs on each coast of the country, NYC and LA. A huge accomplishment right out of college, but as a result the apparel project was put to rest.

It only took a month away before I had that creative craving back. A huge part of me didn’t want to let go of getting into apparel and graphics. I had numerous friends ask what the deal was.. where did the shirts go and what was next? With a college loan and other goals I didn’t have the time or money to start my own line. I had just committed to a new goal of moving across country and progressing my design career into soft goods.

I had a lot of friends support along the way and I decided if I did indeed start something new it was going to be a solid, well thought out company.  I knew in order to take on the things I had in mind I couldn’t do it by myself. I needed some help to bring my ideas to life. So with almost a year of cross country planning, over 100+ names and logos later The Syndicate was born.

I’m enjoying reflecting lately so consider this a “to be continued” conversation…
